Solution Architect

  • Hybrid
    • Hoofddorp , Noord-Holland, Netherlands
  • Devleaps

Engineering is human. So are you.

At DEVLEAPS, we help teams ship better software with less friction.

Job description

We’re looking for a Solution Architect who loves getting hands-on with engineering, transformation, automation and tooling, and gets just as much energy from coaching engineers and guiding clients through change.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement solutions on and new and existing platforms: think Kubernetes/AKS, event streaming, CI/CD, secure and (AI/ML) scalable setups.

  • Join client teams as “one of them”: pairing with engineers, reviewing code and pipelines, helping them level up their engineering practices and developer experience.

  • Help untangle legacy: support migrations from on‑prem/monolith/ESB to microservices, domain‑driven and event‑driven architectures.

  • Facilitate: run technical workshops, refine backlogs with Product Owners, translate tech challenges into clear options and trade‑offs.

  • Guard flow: spot bottlenecks in tooling, process or architecture, and work with the stakeholders to remove friction for teams.

You are

  • An engineer first: you’ve built and run systems, not just drawn them—whether that was in Go, Python, C#, Java or TypeScript.

  • Curious and coachy: you like explaining, pairing, and nudging teams towards better habits rather than throwing documents over the wall.

  • Comfortable in the messy middle: you can handle half‑legacy, half‑cloud landscapes without losing your smile.

  • Human: you have opinions, questions, hobbies, maybe a questionable taste in snacks. That’s fine—we’re a little bit geeky and proud of it.

Job requirements

You’ll bring

  • Roughly 3–6 years of generic software/DevOps engineering experience.

  • You’ve worked on real‑world systems: e.g. services, data pipelines, integrations, internal tools, AI/ML stack agnostic

Engineering foundations

  • You understand version control, code review, testing strategies, basic design principles and clean code.

  • You know how to move from laptop to production: packaging, configuration, observability, and incident handling.

Cloud & DevOps

  • Experience with at least one major cloud (preferably Azure) and concepts like managed services, networking, identity, and security basics.

  • CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.) and scripting/automation in something like Bash, PowerShell, Python or Go.

  • Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) or a strong desire to go deep there.

Ways of working & consultancy skills

  • Used to Agile/Scrum/SAFe environments and cross‑functional teams.

  • Comfortable in a consultancy role: asking questions, pushing back respectfully, and explaining trade‑offs in plain language to non‑engineers.

Language

  • Dutch fluent, English professional.
